An unreleased Anthropic model pushed the Riemann hypothesis further than anyone expected
Anthropic says an unreleased model raised the lower bound on the Riemann hypothesis after running for about a day and a half across 60 coordinated sub-agents and 650 candidate approaches. Two staff mathematicians confirmed the result and it was formalised in Lean.

Apple is building a way to prove your iPhone photo is real
Code in the iOS 27 beta describes Apple Reference Image, a system that would embed provenance data into photos at capture so they can later be verified as camera-made rather than AI-generated. It would ship switched off and verify through Private Cloud Compute.

The Galaxy S27 Pro is set to carry a 12MP 3x telephoto while the Ultra drops its 3x entirely in favour of a 50MP 5x periscope, leaving the two hard to compare directly. A more capable ALoP prototype for the Pro appears to have been shelved to protect the Ultra's position.

Joby Aviation is paying $500 million in cash and stock for Resonant Sciences, an Ohio maker of RF and sensing hardware, and folding its defence projects into a new division under Resonant's chief executive. The deal adds roughly $100 million in annual revenue and access to classified US programmes.
